Getting involved

Are you a parent of a child in Beavers, Cubs or Scouts? Do you want to help out at camps or on a regular basis (at least once a month)? Do you have specific skills you could share for badge work? Please let us know so we can arrange a PVG (Protecting Vulnerable Groups) check. This is a requirement of the Scout Association, and is done at no cost to you.

Are you a big kid with a responsible streak?
Do you want to give our children more adventure and challenge?
Do you like outdoor and practical activities?
Are you organised, dependable and caring?
Can you commit to an evening a week or a job share?

...you sound like a natural leader!

To find out more about becoming a leader, assistant leader or helper with Beavers, Cubs or Scouts, please contact us.

Laurencekirk has thriving troops of Beavers, Cubs and Scouts, all eager to experience the big adventure that Scouting offers. They are supported by our volunteer leaders and committee, but we have one big gap - a Group Scout Leader.

Are you the person to fill it?

If you have:

  • Management experience and skills
  • A commitment to young people
  • A desire to be more involved in developing your local community
  • Respect for the principles of Scouting

...then please let us know and we will pass your details to the District Commissioner.

Are you skilled in a trade and willing to give some time to a community cause? Do you enjoy doing basic gardening and have a few hours to spare? If you are interested in helping with our hut and ground maintenance, please let us know.
